10:30 a.m. L.I.G.H.T. Hour Children's Ministry
L.I.G.H.T Hour is a part of our CCC Children's Ministry that offers bible-based programming for children during our 10:30 a.m. worship service. Grades one through four begin each Sunday with a combined opening assembly where they enjoy an object lesson and some singing. Communion is also offered weekly to those children who have a meaningful understanding of Christ's sacrifice. The children are also encouraged to bring an offering for God as we teach them that giving is, indeed, an act of worship. Following the opening assembly, children are divided by age groups and are led by their teachers to their assigned classrooms for additional learning, crafts, etc.
Classroom and "Drop off" areas for the children are posted at our CCC Welcome Center in the foyer every Sunday.
Childcare is ALWAYS provided for our CCC little ones, but L.I.G.H.T Hour is occasionally dismissed (4 or 5 times a year) to allow our older children to sit in the auditorium with their parents. We do this so that the children can practice the worship disciplines they have learned in the L.I.G.H.T Hour Ministry. Watch your weekly CCC Communiqué for dates that you can plan for your children to sit with you in the worship service.

CCC Nursery Ministry - Birth through approximately 15 months
CCC Toddler Ministry - Approximately 15 months through 2 years
Learning and Worship Opportunities are provided for the following age groups during our 10:30 a.m. worship service
Lamb Ministry / Moonbeams - 2s, 3s, and young 4s
Beginner Ministry / Sunbeams - 4s, 5s, and Kindergarten
Primary Ministry / Shining Stars - 1st and 2nd Graders
Middler Ministry / Beacons - 3rd and 4th Graders
Age Groups Defined
It is Chester Christian Church's policy that children participate in the education program that coincides with the grade they are in within the public/home/private/or Christian school setting. This policy is applicable to children and teens who have started school (K through 12th grades).
Nursery Ministry (Birth - approx. 15 months)
This ministry is designed to accommodate newborns up though approximately 15 months of age. We do ask that when a child begins to walk and becomes independently mobile that he/she is then graduated to the Toddler Ministry. The time for this transition will be left up to the parent and volunteer staff involved. Our primary goal is to allow for flexibility, which will contribute to a positive experience for each child.
Toddler Ministry (approx. 15 mo. - 2 years)
This ministry is for children who have become independently mobile and who are ready to experience interactive learning and playtime with peers. Snack time, learning, and age-appropriate activities are often a part of the Toddler Ministry. We do ask that children are potty trained before moving on to the Lamb Ministry (2s, 3s, and young 4s). The time for this transition will be left up to the parent and volunteer staff involved. Again, our primary goal is to allow for flexibility, which can contribute to a positive experience for each child.
Lamb Ministry / Moonbeams (2s, 3s, and young 4s)
Our preference is that children are potty trained before moving into this age group. This class and curriculum is designed to accommodate children who are 2 years of age up through 4 years of age. This class (during L.I.G.H.T. Hour) does experience structured learning. If a 4-year-old child is physically and developmentally ready to move on to our 4s, 5s and Kindergarten class, he/she is welcomed to do so - this transition will be left up to the parent and volunteer staff involved.
